Powder compacts' common defects and the reasons
1. Uneven density.
Reasons are: 
1) Each part compression ratio is inconsistent;
2) Low mould finish, increased the friction resistance;
3) Lack of lubrication;
4) Unreasonable parts size (Length-diameter ratio is too big, length-thickness ratio is too big. etc);
5) Compressing method is wrong.

2. Crack.
Reasons are: 
1) The uneven density;
2) Poor formability, Greater Flexibility after cpmpacting;
3) Demoulding way is wrong;
4) Poor rigidity of the mould;
5) Mould has back taper.

3. Edge Damage.
Reasons are: 
1) Powder formability is poor;
2) Powder compact's density is low.

4. Surface Scratch.
Reasons are: 
1) The mold surface has scratch;
2) The mold has a tumor.
